About this service
Inlays and onlays, sometimes called partial crowns, are custom ceramic restorations, made by a dental laboratory and bonded into a tooth to repair damage too large for a filling but not extensive enough to justify a full crown. They preserve more natural tooth structure than a crown, restore strength, and finish with a smooth, natural-looking margin.

What to expect

Removal of Decay
We remove only the damaged tooth structure, preserving as much healthy enamel and dentin as possible.

Precise Impression
We take a detailed polyvinyl siloxane (PVS) impression of the prepared tooth and send it to our dental laboratory partner for fabrication.

Bonded Placement
At the second visit, the inlay or onlay is bonded into the tooth and polished flush to your natural occlusion.
