Cosmetic Dental Bonding

A precise, conservative way to repair small chips, smooth edges, and refine the shape of a tooth in one visit.

About this service

Cosmetic dental bonding uses tooth-colored composite resin sculpted directly onto your natural tooth to repair chips, close minor gaps, lengthen short teeth, or reshape uneven edges. It is usually completed in a single visit, with no laboratory step. Bonding is one of the most preservation-minded cosmetic procedures we offer because little to no enamel needs to be removed.

Cosmetic Dental Bonding is one of the cosmetic services we provide at our Corona Del Mar dental practice, close to home for patients in Newport Beach, Newport Coast, Balboa Island, Costa Mesa, and Irvine. Dr. Younesi takes the time to listen, evaluate, and explain every option before treatment begins. Learn more about Dr. Younesi or contact our office with any questions.

Bonding FAQs

Common questions about bonding.

Don’t see your question? Call us at (949) 409-9895 and we will get you a clear answer.

How long does bonding last?
Cosmetic bonding often holds up for somewhere in the range of five to ten years before it needs a polish or a refresh, though composite stains and chips more readily than porcelain and your own timeline depends on the size of the repair, your bite, and your habits. Avoid biting fingernails, ice, or pen caps to extend its lifespan.
Is bonding better than a veneer?
For small repairs and conservative cases, yes, it preserves more enamel and costs less. For large smile redesigns, porcelain delivers a more durable and stain-resistant result.
Can bonding fix white spots on my teeth?
Sometimes, but it is usually not where we start. Many white spots respond to ICON resin infiltration, a separate treatment that fills the porous enamel of the spot from within, in most cases without drilling. Bonding becomes an option when a spot is too deep for infiltration alone to hide.
